Jumping back into the car, Dobie took a left, then a right, and another left to put them directly in front of his old high school.

“Your old high school?” she guessed.

He nodded and smiled. He enjoyed a moment of just sitting in his beautiful old car Sabina with his beautiful new fiancée Kaylie in front of the place where he’d experienced so much heartache and teenage angst. Occasional fun, but mostly heartache, angst… and acne.

Future Dobie was showing off in front of Past Dobie. From there, he drove past Gimpy’s where he had met Cat and Brandi. Then came Brandi’s classroom above that liquor store. The store was still there but Brandi’s sign was long gone from the window above it.

He then crossed the intersection where he had totaled his first-ever car — a faded yellow old Mustang — and pulled into the nearest parking lot.

“What?” Kaylie asked. “Do we need snacks or,” she smiled and added, “...condoms?”

He laughed out loud. Once again, she had pulled him out of his funk. He hadn’t even noticed the drugstore.
