It had been a while since he last heard the Colonel’s voice through the wall, and he didn’t want to be around when Charonne came out of his office.
He was hurrying toward the wide-open front door like an antelope fleeing a lion when Charonne roared from somewhere behind him. “What the hell is going on here!?”
Dobie stopped, turned, and tried to think what to say. Charonne stood in front of his office’s double doors, hands on his hips, ready to explode.
